This one-time class is a fabulous introduction into decadent desserts. These cupcakes are made completely from scratch - no boxes here! - all in one pan or bowl for minimal cleanup. They are fudgy, almost a mix between cake and a brownie! And the thick, delicious frosting is almost like a dessert itself. During class, students will mix and bake their cupcakes. Cooking and baking are some of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy spending time making a variety of foods for my family and with my kids. I have been cooking and baking for two decades. Twenty years ago, as a teenager, I would often cook dinner and bake treats for my family. Now, 20 years later, you can find me in the kitchen with my own kids. I also teach other baking classes on Outschool, so be sure to check them out. I am excited to share this wonderful hobby with young chefs and create an excitement in this as well.
A recipe will be provided before class begins. Here are basic ingredients students will need: Flour Eggs White granulated sugar Powdered Sugar Brown sugar Vanilla Salt Butter Heavy Whipping Cream (milk will be fine if you don't have cream!) Chocolate chips - semi-sweet work best, but milk chocolate is fine too Kitchen supplies needed: regular muffin tin(s) cupcake liners pan to melt chocolate OR a microwave safe bowl to melt chocolate Whisk Plastic spoon Electric mixer Piping kit OR plastic bag
