In this class, students will explore contrasts in music: fast passages against sonorous tonal colors and traditional harmonies mixed with contemporary sounds. We will also explore the key of D natural and harmonic minor, grace notes, cadenzas, octaves and binary & ternary forms. 

I have been teaching piano for over 13 years. I have a Master's Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree of Art in Music. I am a touring musician and am currently recording my second solo album.

Please note: Students will need to practice a minimum of 2 hours every week to stay on top of class material. Sight-reading fluency is essential to learning class pieces. Weekly practice is essential to learn new material.

I will offer feedback after students perform an exercise and, if needed, provide suggestions to help the student master the concept. Mistakes are a part of learning a musical instrument! So students should not worry if they play the exercise or a piece correct on the first try. Together we will learn how to progress through new music and learn new musical concepts.
