This is a fun drawing class to learn and explore about animals and their habitats. 

Each session will open with a mini presentation about an animal or an insect and students are encouraged to share what they know. The presentation may include: animal facts, pictures, and art instruction about shapes and lines. We will then draw the animal and the habitat. I will guide students through the drawing, focusing on drawing with basic shapes. Students may follow along or interpret the drawing in their own way. 

The structure of the class is as follows: 5 minutes for slide presentation, 20 minutes to draw (students are encouraged to ask questions and share during this time), and 5 minutes to share. The lessons are organized alphabetically.

Students in this age range vary in their development- some are beginning to hold their pencil and make shapes, while others may be more adept at putting complex shapes together. I try to create an environment that is supporting and accepting of students wherever they may be.
