What will be taught: Facts about Alaska, how to draw a polar bear, basic drawing terminology regarding lines and shapes, facts about polar bears.

What topics will be covered: Introduction to Alaska, the appropriate steps to draw an accurate rendering of a polar bear, facts about polar bears.

How is the class structured: Teacher introduction, student introductions, quick reminder of student code of conduct, introduction to the lesson with a slide presentation, guided drawing, students' independent drawing if time permits, spotlighting to give students an opportunity to showcase their artwork, wrap-up.

What is my teaching style: friendly, upbeat, calm, supportive, helpful, while maintaining students' focus on the lesson's objective.

How much will learners interact with me and each other: students' direct interaction with me will be at the beginning and the end of the lesson, but they are free to ask questions at any time during instruction in a non-disruptive manner. I will consistently have check-ins with students throughout the lesson to gage their comprehension and progress. Students interaction with each other will also mostly occur at the beginning and the end of the class.

Required experience for students: the ability to use hand/eye coordination to hold and maneuver a pencil to create an image on a sheet of paper.
