In this one-time class, students will learn how to draw Antonio from the movie Encanto. This lesson will focus on the following art skills and elements:
- Portrait drawing skills in a cartoon style
- Basic shaping for the human form, specifically drawing proportions for children and curly hair 
- There will be extensive time on coloring, shading, and subtle details 

Students can follow the drawing instruction step-by-step in my classes but are also encouraged to be creative and try things as well. Throughout class we will talk about the art in an open discussion format, and also discuss Antonio and the movie Encanto. Students are encouraged to take turns sharing and chat but also can remain silent if they choose. 

Younger and less advanced artists can expect a more simplified version of this drawing during class time as detail work and expressive drawing is a skill typically students learn starting in the 5th grade (US equivalent). Older and more advanced younger students in the age range may have more focus on detail work. Students who complete their drawing before the end of class will also be offered extra tips and can continue to expand on their work by including more details in the background to create a scene, or starting a new piece. 

All of my classes are highly interactive and usually contain a special surprise at the end in form of a mystery unboxing, magic trick, etc.!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

- ONE STUDENT PER SPOT. Outschool policy does not allow for multiple students to take a course through one spot as both teachers and Outschool are compensated based on the number of enrollments. Please enroll each student to their own spot in the class. Students can share a screen so long as they are each registered for the class. 

- I am unable to assist with technical issues and usually I will not be able to respond to troubleshooting questions on the section message board as my attention will be on instructing the class section. Instructors on Outschool are independent contractors and we are not able to troubleshoot technical issues on the Outschool platform; please contact Outschool directly. 

- I CANNOT OFFER REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS FOR TECHNICAL ISSUES OR LATE ARRIVALS TO CLASS. It is the responsibility of the student and their adult/sponsor to assure that students arrive to class on-time and that tech is in good, working order. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of late arrivals and no-shows requesting transfers, I cannot make exceptions to this rule. No business could survive if they had to regularly supply two or more products/services for the price of one. 

- This class uses a flexible age range, meaning students just below or above the posted age range are likely to do fine in the class so long as their general art skills are at level for their age. 

- Classes are virtual, through Zoom. You can enter the class around the start of class time by following the link on the section registration page for the time of the class you signed up.

- Class will start within a few minutes of the designated start time. We usually allow a few minutes at the start of class for introductions and for everyone to log in.
