In this weekly class, we will discuss books that have dragons as the central theme. For each book, we will read assigned chapters each week. When we meet, I will summarize the chapters that we've read and we will discuss them. We'll cover plot progression as well as literary themes. Our goal is to enjoy reading the chapters keeping in mind the literary style of the author. The class will be a mix of instruction and student interaction. Eragon by Christopher Paolini - hardcopy or audiobook
The class will use Kahoot and Nearpod for quizzes. There is no need for the student to enroll and no student information is necessary. The quiz can be accessed by a code provided by the teacher during class. The quizzes will be on content and grammar. The quizzes are optional and not required. If you, as the parent, do not approve your child using Kahoot and Nearpod in the context described above, your child is free to avoid participating in those activities.
Eragon by Christopher Paolini. Book One in the series trilogy. We will be using the unabridged version. The story can be assimilated as a hardcopy book or an audiobook.
