Learners will begin class with a fun song about dinosaurs to engage them! We will read a story about a dinosaur who has a problem called, "How Do Dinosaurs Play with the Friends" by Jane Yolan or a book where we meet a lot of dinosaurs called, "I Met a Dinosaur" by Jan Wahl. Learners will practice their social skills by talking with friends and taking turns listening and speaking. Learners will practice counting skills and one to one correspondence. Learners will practice singing and rhyming. Learners will practice recognizing the letter "d" and the sound that goes with d. This builds knowledge of phonics. Learners will practice their creativity and fine motor skills by drawing.
Learners will need paper and art supplies, such as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, or markers. Learners may chose to bring a dinosaur picture or toy to class to share at the beginning.
