This class is an ongoing format. Students will draw an original character digitally every week. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Students can join or leave the series any week. Students are required to have some digital art experience and basic understanding of digital tools already. Teacher Sarah has been practicing art for over 10 years, mastering a variety of mediums ranging from oil paints, colored pencils, digital, sculpting, glassblowing, needlepoint and more. She is currently studying sequential illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design. Sarah is passionate about allowing the creativity of students to bloom, giving them the techniques and skills necessary to make their ideas come alive. Hardware: Computer or Drawing tablet with a stylus Software: Drawing program - Students can use their own digital programs or either of the below: Sketchbook Pro - www.sketchbook.com - free on mobile devices Clip Studio Paint - www.clipstudio.net/en/purchase/trial/ - free trial for first 3 months Procreate - Available on Apple devices through Apple store Photopea - www.photopea.com - Free to use open source browser based Photoshop, no download needed. (Photopea is a free browser based photo editor and illustration tool capable of rendering and exporting images and basic animations. The interface works just like Adobe Photoshop but with limited functionality to make it viable for use in the browser. It is completely free to use making it a budget friendly way to learn digital art, you do not need to create an account or subscribe. Photopea can run on any device (desktop, laptop, tablet, phone or any other computer), but for the best comfort, we recommend having a big screen, a precise pointing device (a mouse or a stylus) and a keyboard. Photopea runs completely in your device, just like Sketch or Photoshop do. It is compatible for both Mac and Windows. )
Students are welcomed to use their own familiar digital art programs. For students using the free resource Photopea, no sign-up or registration is required. Free to use on all devices.
