This three-meeting class is designed for dragon fans who would like to spend some time creating dragons with other learners! We'll start during our first meeting by brainstorming different kinds of dragons and write down some of our ideas about what our dragons might look like, where they might live, and what they like to do. We'll talk about backstory, using some popular examples (Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon), as well as what different dragons can look like and why (Hookfang,...
Students will learn brainstorming and idea generating, will think creatively about designing a dragon of their own choice, perspective and planning, drawing techniques (penciling, inking, adding color), and basic color theory.
Learners will need basic things for drawing: paper, pencils, a marker for inking, and whatever they would like to use for coloring their dragon or dragons: crayons, colored pencils, markers, watercolor -- whatever the learner likes to use will work for this class! Learners will also need a space where they are able to draw. If learners prefer to draw on tablets, that's also totally fine.
