소수점, 소수점, 그리고 또 소수점!

In this on-going course, students will gain a conceptual understanding of decimals. Each class we will have a specific focus where students will have ample time to practice the content at hand. We will work on understanding decimal place value down to the thousandths, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals! We will use virtual manipulatives and representative drawings so learners can 'see' the math, instead of memorize a procedure. This class is perfect for students fourth grade and beyond who are working with decimals. 
An example schedule progression would be:
Tuesday, December 6th Week 1: place value to the tenths, hundredths, and thousandths
Tuesday, December 13th Week 2: rounding to the nearest tenth, hundredth, and whole number
Tuesday, December 20th Week 3: adding decimals using models
Tuesday, December 27th Week 4: subtracting decimals using models
Tuesday, January 3rd Week 5: multiplying decimals using grids
Tuesday, January 10th Week 6: multiplying decimals using an area model
Tuesday, January 17th Week 7: dividing decimals using grids
Tuesday, January 24th Week 8: dividing decimals using an area model
