Learner progress is assessed informally through participation in the classroom and sharing photos of finished artworks. A personalized Certificate of Completion is posted in the classroom when the learner has posted art for each lesson.

This 4-week, self-paced course is a fun exploration of food through drawing in a cute, kawaii style.  There are no live meetings for this course; rather, students learn through discussion questions and drawing videos.  During this course, learners will draw cute food doodles, learn elements of kawaii-style drawing, and learn facts about outer food throughout history. 

What to Expect:  Learners will draw along with pre-recorded videos to create cute food drawings.  Each lesson, learners will draw three different cute, kawaii-style food doodles, adding color and details.   Every lesson also includes a fun food-themed game, and a gallery post.  Our course wraps up with Art Sharing Time!  Learners choose their favorite drawings from the course, post them in our classroom, and add a video describing their work.

*Students will learn elements of kawaii-style drawing.

During my art instruction, I offer different ways to approach drawing problems, model being okay with mistakes, and encourage artists to work at their own pace, pausing or replaying the video if needed.

This drawing class is appropriate for beginners or artists with some experience in kawaii drawing.

Any type of drawing paper
Pencil and eraser
Media for adding color to drawings:  crayons, color pencils, markers, or watercolors (student preference)
