This hands-on lesson introduces the learner to creating publications on Microsoft Publisher. The student will learn to use this textbox-based program to create an event flyer. This class includes working with text boxes, inserting picture placeholders, inserting pictures, rotating, bringing forward or sending backward images, inserting and formatting word art, and using shapes with words or pictures. Teacher will demonstrate and learner will follow step by step instructions to build and populate their own event flyer. 
This is part of the Publisher portion of the technology applications class that I taught in middle school for 20 years. I wrote the curriculum based on skill requirements set by the state of Texas. 
Needed:  Computer with video and sound capability, Microsoft Publisher, access to separate device (phone or tablet) to display teacher demonstrations so student can work on their own computer.
