Advanced 레벨
The second level of my most advanced creative writing course! In this class, each student will begin or further develop a short story or novel length work. This course has firm prerequisites. I am the author over over 15 books for young people, and another 15 adult titles; these have been translated into over two dozen languages and won multiple state awards, including appearing multiple times on the Books All Young Georgians Must Read list and the Missouri Mark Twain Award list. I have spoken in schools across the world, taught courses to children and adults alike, and run a variety of writing camps.

Each week, student will work on their story and turn in their progress at least twenty-four hours before the following class. In week seven, students will need to come to class having read and prepared notes on the work of one to two other students (they will receive this one week in advance, during the week six class). Below are my general classroom rules and policies. These will also be explained to students when we begin class! -For everyone's safety, and to ensure an engaging and social experience, students are required to have working microphones and video for the entirety of this class, positioned such that we can both hear and see them. -Students are asked not to use filters or virtual backgrounds-- though if there is an important reason to use a virtual background, please just let me know ahead of time that your student will be using one (no questions asked!). -Students will be asked to introduce themselves by sharing their name, pronoun, and a favorite book. -The Zoom text chat is set to "host only", meaning students can chat with me, but not to one another or the entire classroom.
