This is a flexible schedule course that meets asynchronously via the virtual classroom for six weeks. Assignments, along with an instructional video, will be posted every Monday and due by the following Friday/Saturday (if the learner would like immediate feedback). Students are expected to use the classroom in order to interact with each other and receive feedback from the instructor. The instructor will be checking in at least once/ day in order to encourage students and guide them through the writing process to a completed piece. After work is submitted each week, the instructor will return with video feedback and a completed rubric within a week. 

The student should be familiar with how to construct a sentence and paragraph. While grammar and sentence structure will be touched on throughout the course, the main focus will be on content and the various genres of writing. (narrative, informational, persuasive, transactional) 

WEEK ONE: Fantasy Writing/ optional storyboard activity
WEEK TWO: Comparative essay that explores the Elvin abilities
WEEK THREE: Informational writing prompt about Lost Cities
WEEK FOUR: Interview a book character (optional to do this with a partner)
WEEK FIVE: Persuasive writing prompt that explores the character relationships throughout the series
WEEK SIX: Create a private weblog/ fanfiction
