Students will learn about what a personal essay is, how writing a personal essay can be used as a form of self-expression and the academic applications of such writing. They will have the opportunity to briefly share their work if they wish. The goal is to help students get through writer's block, improve their writing skills, and to have fun!
I am a licensed grade 5-12 ELA teacher and a professional magazine writer with a BA in Writing, Literature and Publishing. I work with students in grades K-8 in "real life," including middle school populations with higher social/emotional needs. I aim to create a creative, fun, and relaxed environment so students can learn and express themselves effectively.
