Students will learn the specific skills and expertise used by professional journalists to form their own opinions and write effective and persuasive essays and debates.

As a journalist and an English Literature Major, writing is one of the most valuable skills to possess, in my opinion. I have had countless pieces of my own writing published, and I pride myself on my unique ability to establish a student’s learning style, which allows me to tailor my teaching methods to each one, individually.
I have a background in child behavioral psychology, and I recognize that using the traditional teaching methods don’t work for every student. Everyone learns differently, and therefore, I treat every student accordingly. I will, gladly, take extra time with individual students, if needed, to allow them to grow into their own creative voice.
I believe that everyone should be given the tools to express themselves, and I feel very passionate about providing each student with those tools in a judgment-free, accepting environment.
