Join us for some creative writing FUN! If you love writing stories, and often get a bit stuck, or feel like you need some direction or motivation, then this is the club for you! Here's a sample of some topics we'll cover: - Creating baddies - Making your descriptions POP - World Building - Plotting your story idea Each week, we will cover some strategies to improve your writing, looking at the areas of plot, character, setting, genre, and themes. We will complete some fun exercises to help you draw inspiration from a variety of sources, and shape your own unique writing style. In addition to sharing your ideas and learning about these areas, you will have the opportunity to test them out, share your work, receive feedback, and give feedback to other writers in the group. Whether you want to write short stories, poetry, or tackle a whole novel, this group will spur you on, encourage you when you feel stuck, and give you the tools you need to become a successful author. As we progress, there will also be some teaching on how to approach publishing - whether self-publishing or finding an agent. The different approaches will be discussed, and who knows, maybe we will be shaping the next best-selling author!

I'm a qualified teacher, experienced in teaching English, History, Music, and Art. I home educated my two children, who are now at university, and I have taught in mainstream schools, and in Special-Ed schools.
I have also taught piano, guitar, singing, and music theory, taking students through grade examinations.
I am experienced in teaching the British GCSEs, and through home-schooling, I taught my own children using American curriculum. I teach Language Arts, English Literature and Language, Creative Writing, Poetry - both writing, and reading, and many other fantastic and interesting topics.
I teach writing skills using the Writing Revolution techniques, and have seen students improve their writing skills rapidly using some of the techniques applied.
In addition, I worked as a graphic designer for 10 years, working from home, and offer graphic design and video editing classes, using Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, and soon, Affinity creative suite.
Growth Mindset is very important in my classes, and I encourage it in all learners - Growth Mindset is the belief that even if you can't do something or don't understand something, then you CAN learn how to do it or understand it. Growth Mindset says "I can't do it YET, but I can learn." Learning happens through making mistakes, and then modifying your approach, changing what you do, to improve. I encourage all learners to try, and to feel comfortable making mistakes, because that's how we all learn.리뷰
