In this 15 week course, we will explore concepts of chemistry and master the Scientific Method. Each lesson will review any previously taught concepts needed for that lesson, so your child can come and go as needed throughout the section. This way, new students have the required knowledge for that day's lesson and continuing students gain more mastery. My teaching style is fun and encouraging. Students in my classes understand that my class is a safe place to make mistakes and ask questions....
Students will learn how atoms are structured. They will leanr how the electricty within the atoms allows for bonds to be made creating various molecules. Students will use the Scientific Method to perform many experiments that will strengthen their understaning of atoms and molecules in our world and how they behave. Students will see and sometimes create models of various molecules.
I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with 29 years of teaching experience and training.

Some experiments may take longer than just the 45 minute class period. These longer experiments will be finished at home with the conclusions discussed at the beginning of the next lesson. Occasionally supplies will be needed or printables cut out before class. The teacher will be sure to notify families of these needs in time to prepare for the next lesson.수업 외 주당 0 - 1 시간

Supplies are mentioned in the class description for each lesson. Mrs. Whitten will also send supply needs to the class announcements each week as needed allowing time for families to collect supplies.
There are 1-2 experiments that will require parental help. One experiment uses boiling water, and another may require the help of the parent to stretch a balloon across the mouth of a water bottle.

2/15/2024: I am taking a leave of absence until Summer of 2024 due to my battle with breast cancer. Once I have recovered from treatment and surgeries, I will return to help more children learn to love math and science. One of my greatest joys...
