In this hands-on crafty class, learners will be engaged as they create 3 different types of stress balls to play with and use to relax their hand muscles. I start the class by talking about the reason stress balls and exist and emphasize the fact that they help with hand coordination and are great for working on grip strength. Of course the real reason for the making them is that they they are just fun to play with. We will use 3 different types of materials to make the 3 different balls...
Regular sized balloons (multiple) Play Dough Flour or Powered Sugar or Play Sand Rice Scissors Small funnel or paper to create funnel Plastic lunch baggies (preferable with zipper cut off) Tarp or covering for work area (will get a bit messy) Yarn Ballpoint Pen Fork 1/2 cup measuring
We will be hand tying plastic baggies and balloons so if student struggles with tying you may want to be nearby. I will definitely share tricks for helping to tie the bags.
