Welcome to Countries Around the World! These classes will be similar in format to the Around the World: Continent Series, but we will take a deeper look into various countries around the world. During our travels we will be stamping our passport books and create an interactive travel journal that documents information from each country we visit. Your student will need one notebook throughout the year as we explore 10 countries in Europe! Our first stop is Europe! A break-down of each week is listed below. Every week we will visit a new country, and students will fill in a new page in their interactive travel notebooks. Weekly Schedule: Week One: England Week Two: Ireland Week Three: France Week Four: Italy Week Five: Germany Week Six: Sweden Week Seven: The Netherlands Week Eight: Spain Week Nine: Greece Week Ten: Russia As we journey through each country, we will explore the history, culture, landmarks, food, and much more! They will also create an amazing interactive notebook that highlights their journey. This is a print heavy course and there is 15-20 minutes of preparation before each class. Missing a country that your child is interested in from Europe? Feel free to send me a message with your request. Welcome! My name is Amy and I am excited to see you here!
I completed my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and am currently certified to teach in the state of Virginia. I have been teaching both online and in-person for around ten years at both the Elementary and Middle School level. I currently teach Science and Geography on Outschool and US History at my local co-op. I also am a homeschool mom to two girls, ages 10 and 7. I love teaching, but I also love learning! Teaching is a very rewarding profession because it allows me to continue my journey as a lifelong learner.
My goal is to provide a comfortable and stimulating environment for your learner. I am a kinesthetic learner which is why I offer lapbooks and interactive notebooks in all of my courses. They are great tools for a variety of learning styles! They are not for everyone, and that is okay if they do not work for your child. We all learn differently. If you are questioning whether this specific style is good for your child, I recommend taking a one-time or ongoing course first.
