This class is designed to help children build their number sense. Consistent practice will bring them to a better understanding of numbers and mathematics as a whole. We will not focus much on memorizing math facts (2+2=4), but our routine will give students regular opportunities to develop their mathematical reasoning. I will sometimes play a game with the students using a PowerPoint presentation. These games will involve much movement, so make sure the students have space to stand, jump, and even run in place. If not properly supervised, my biggest worry is that students will try to stand on a chair and try these movements. I will always make a disclaimer before the activity "You may stand if you'd like to, but make sure you stand on the floor and not on a chair."
