In this one time class, students will be learning to draw a cool pop art cat and use markers or colored pencils to color it. We will break down the cat into simple shapes and then refine our drawing. Drawing techniques will cover sketching, mark making, and creative coloring as needed for the specific project. Lessons will be in a "work with me format" with visual and audio step-by-step instructions. I will show my finished work at the start of class as an example along with the supplies needed to create it. Art freedom and fun will be emphasized in a relaxed setting. Students will be encouraged to add their creative personal touches to their work. I will offer a sharing event at the end of the class and/or I will encourage students to upload their finished work to the classroom to share with me and their art friends.

Some markers are permanent stainers. Please protect surfaces and clothes. Remind learners to not draw on their skin in case the marker is permanent. :)

White paper. (Printer paper will work fine.) Pencil and eraser. Various colored markers or any other coloring medium like crayons, colored pencils or pastels.
