In this class social club for students on the autism spectrum, they will be introduced to each of Ron Clark’s essential rules with role play and examples, to aid in learning communication, conversation and social skills to help discover the success of every student. 

Topics / Discussion List
Month of January
Week of January  1    Topic 1 - Respond to an adult when spoken to.
Week of January 7     Topic 2 -  Make eye contact when spoken to.
Week of January 14   Topic 3 -  Congratulate classmates.
Week of January 21    Topic 4 -  Respect other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas.
Week of January 28   If you win, do not brag, if you lose, do not show anger.

Month of February
Week of February 1     Topic 6 -  If you are asked a question in conversation, ask a question in return.
Week of February 4    Topic 7 -   Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough and say excuse me.
Week of February 11   Topic 8 -  Do not show disrespect with gestures.
Week of February 18   Topic 9 -  Always say thank you when given something.
Week of February 25   Topic 10 - When you receive something, do not insult the gift or the giver.

Month of March
Week of March 3   Topic 11 - Surprise others by performing random acts of kindness.
Week of March 10 Topic 12 -  When grading other students’ papers, give only the correct grade.
Week of March 17  Topic 13 - Follow along when we read together in class.
Week of March 24 Topic 14 - Answer all written questions with a complete sentence.

Week of April 1    Topic 15 -  Do not ask for a reward.
Week of April 8   Topic 16 - You must complete your homework every day.
Week of April 15   Topic 17 - Subject transitions and moving to different classrooms will be swift, quiet, and orderly.
Week of April 22   Topic 18 - Be as organized as possible.
Week of April 29   Topic 19 - When homework is assigned, do not moan or complain.

Month of May
Week of May  5   Topic 20 - When a substitute teacher present, all class rules still apply.
Week of May  12  Topic 21 - Follow the specific classroom protocols.
Week of May  19  Topic 22 - You may bring a bottle of water to class; you may not leave for a drink of water during class.
Week of May  26  Topic 23 - Know other teachers’ names and greet them in the hall by name.

Month of June
Week of June 2      Topic 24 - Keep yourself and the bathroom clean and germ-free.
Week of June 9      Topic 25 - Greet visitors and make them feel welcome.
Week of June 16    Topic 26 - Do not save seats in the lunchroom.
Week of June 23    Topic 27  - Do not stare at a student who is being reprimanded.

Week of July 1    Topic 27  Topic 28 - Call me if you have a question about homework and leave a message – once.
Week of July 7    Topic 29  - The ABC’s of etiquette.
Week of July 14   Topic 30  -After dining in the cafeteria or elsewhere, be responsible for your trash.
Week of July21   Topic 31  -(Used at his school) In a hotel room, leave a tip for the hotel workers who clean your room.
Week of July 28  Topic 32 - On a bus, always face forward.

Month of August
Week of August 4   Topic 33 - When meeting new people shake hands and repeat their names.
Week of August 11  Topic 34  - When offered food, take only your fair share.
Week of August 18  Topic 35  - If someone drops something and you are close to it, pick it up.
Week of August 25  Topic 36  - Hold the door for people rather than letting it close on them.

Month of September
Week of September 1     Topic 37  - If someone bumps into you, say excuse me, even if it was not your fault.
Week of September 8    Topic 38 - On a field trip, enter a public building quietly.
Week of September 15  Topic 39 - On a field trip, compliment the place you are visiting.
Week of September 22  Topic 40 - During an assembly, do not speak or call out to friends.
Week of September 29  Topic 41 - At home, answer your phone in a polite and appropriate manner.

Week of October 1       Topic 42 - When returning from a trip, shake the hands of every chaperone.
Week of October 6       Topic 43 - Keep right in the hallways when walking.
Week of October 13      Topic 44 - When walking in line, Keep your arms at your sides and move quietly.

My name is Mrs. Lisa Tennyson.  I'm an experienced, licensed and certified educator with a diverse background. I am the teacher who actually enjoys teaching kids with attention and impulse "problems." I have spent several years in my education learning techniques that can can help students succeed. My areas of expertise and certification include Kindergarten through 6th grade teacher, 7th and 8th grade all four core areas, Gifted and Talented Teacher and Director of Education, Special Education Grades 4 through 12 specialist as well as building principal for PreK through 8th grade.
