In this interactive and hands-on class, participants will learn the basics of HTML/CSS coding and complete the course with a simple and functioning website. We will use Glitch to code our website. Glitch is a text editor that allows participants to manipulate code in real-time! Participants will be using real coding tools similar to those used by developers! Glitch simulates a real coding environment and will give participants the confidence to pursue projects on their own In each class, participants will learn: Class 1: * HTML tags *Memory Matching Game with HTML Tags Class 2: * Review of Class 1 * How to place an image on a website Class 3: * Review of Class 2 * How to link text to another website (hyperlink) Class 4: * Review of Class 3 * Buttons and lists *CSS and making your website appealing! Class 5: * Review of Class 4 * Wireframing (planning) our final websites Class 6: * Finish up final websites * Website showcase/presentation I will teach via Zoom, with a shared screen and sound. Learners will be able to watch me as I answer their questions and code examples. after each class, I will assign participants a YouTube video, on the subject taught that day, to watch. This video will serve as the speaking point for the next session's warm-up. Participants will interact with me and their peers during each session. There is no experience required to be successful in this class!

Greetings! I'm Courtney and so pleased to meet you! I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Seton Hall University, a Masters Degree from The City University of New York, and a TESOL from Arizona State University.
For the past 7 years, I have worked with a startup as a professional college essay writer and have taught writing and literacy skills in-person and online to both K-12 and adult learners. In these classes, I would engage all of my learners in topics that were of interest to them. This allowed for speedy growth and progress in every aspect of their literacy, speaking, and writing development.
My classes are writing, conversation and literacy-based. Expect a book club, a creative writing class, a social club, and fun trivia as a few of my course offerings.
In my classes, I take a communicative approach to learning. I strive to meet your student where they are in their learning journey and support them from there. Whether it is a 1-day class or a 5-week class, the attention I give to your learner (and you) is personalized.
Speaking of personal, I am a mother of a wonderful 8 year-old. His creative and imaginative personality helps fuel mine. Also, I am from New York City and elephants, lemurs, coffee, and cooking are some of my favorite things.
