수업 소개

This class is an ongoing format. Students will sculpt a new landscape scenery every week. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. Students can join or leave the series any week. Prior attendance and knowledge of the subject is not required to attend.

Students will create freestanding, handmade pieces using sculptural techniques. They will learn how to consider volume, weight, color and form to design their objects. They will learn the difference between shapes and forms. They will use rolling, coiling, patting techniques to shape body parts by building various forms and connecting them together. Extra techniques will be used in carving trees, waterways and grasslands to give texture to achieve realistic looks. Students will also be introduced to the techniques of mixing colored clay. They will blend paints into white clay to get the desired color. They will also be taught to paint over the surface. Instructors will also suggest tips to work on small details like rocks, bridges and foliage. Precise hand-eye coordination is intensively trained in this class.

Classes are highly interactive and students will have the opportunity to socialize and share their ideas in a fun and upbeat environment. This is a highly sought-after class for clay miniatures fans.
