In this class, we will be using several sources to study for the upcoming California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE). We will use sample questions from the CHSPE.org website from past years. (They no longer list these questions on their site.) We will also be using the Sacramento County Office of Education's CHSPE study guide. Strengthen reading comprehension, including reading charts and graphs Strengthen language skills: grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure Strengthen math skills: algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, graphing, etc Learn and/or strengthen basic essay writing skills
I have been preparing students to pass the CHSPE for over 20 years. Hundreds of my students have passed the exam and earned their high school diploma equivalent early. I estimate that students taking my classes have had a 75-85% pass rate on the first try.
Optional: I recommend the Barron's Study for the CHSPE, especially for the practice tests.
