Oxygen and Magnesium together? OMg!! This class is designed to provide an introduction to a vital chemistry concept, the "mole". Many topics will be covered over this 5 week class that will give the student a basic understanding of the types of chemical reactions and how to balance them. I have taught chemistry and chemical engineering at the college level, and have been teaching science to home school elementary, middle and high school students for 10 years. I know how to present science in a fun way to boost students interest in the subject.

Students will need a calculator capable of scientific notation. A TI-30 series calculator is great (no graphing capabilities needed). Even the calculator on a cell phone will work. Notes pages for each lesson and practice problems will be provided by the teacher.
