TLW read Bud Not Buddy and show an understanding of the topics covered by written work, video presentations, and journaling. The Learner will connect the topics to everyday life and experiences. At the end of the course TLW (The Learner Will): 1. Understand Bud's point of view on life 2. Define vocabulary words that leads up to a better understanding of the text 3. Connect life and music in the 30s and 40s with life today 4. Write essays that support your thoughts 5. Create summary paragraphs 6. Answer comprehension questions 7. Do online searches in order to extend their learning and understanding of topics covered in the prerecorded videos. 8. Understand and apply what it means to live in a time of racism, discrimination, and issues children deal with while growing up. This course prepares students for a new perspective on the war we are fighting today #blacklivesmatter
