수업 소개

Stuart Little is not just a mouse. He has friends and was born into a family of humans. He wakes up one day to find that his friend is missing. Students will enjoy being a part of his adventures. This class will meet three times per week, 40 minutes for two weeks. Each time we meet as a class, we will discuss what was discovered in previous chapters and make predictions about what will happen in the next chapters. Students will learn vocabulary from each chapter, answer as class (interacting with peers and teacher) chapter by chapter questions, work on one comparing, describing characters and many more activities. Each week students will have a two-page handout to print and work on in class together. Students will interact with teacher, peers and Google Slides.

This class is structured for readers to jump right in and enjoy reading. This class does require the book. Readers can read as an E-Reader, check out from the library or purchase and add to their book collection.

The class is structured each week for students to interact with peers and teacher. Students will be introduced the following activities each week that will build upon more understanding of what they are reading.

WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW
Parents need to know that E.B. White's Stuart Little is an excellent bridge between chapter books and full-length novels. Stuart, a mouse, is both valiant and very polite, and finds himself on one of the biggest adventures of his life as he sets off to find a lost friend. He encounters several dangers in the process because of his size, but the mood stays light and imaginative. Stuart proves to be a protagonist that many readers can admire and respect.

Hi! My name is Brienna. Students can call me Ms. B.
When the pandemic started, I knew right away that homeschooling was the journey our family would be taking. I have been homeschooling along with teaching. I began teaching when I was 18! I fell in love with teaching and showing students that they were Rockstars! (Reading Rockstar, Math Rockstar, Social Studies Rock Star). It was very important to me that learners felt that they were awesome and could rock any subject that was taught.

I have two amazing kids!! A Jr. in high school and a middle school learner. Our favorite things to do as a family is to travel and collect board games.

I am a huge advocate for special needs students. My son’s journey with Autism and ADHD taught me so much from learning about different therapies to IEP goals. I create classes so that all children with different abilities can participate and feel valued.

With my ten years’ experience, as a preschool teacher my passion is teaching children through engaging activities, while having fun. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a private tutor for Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Currently I am working towards my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and becoming a certified Curriculum Specialist. With different classroom setting experiences I had the opportunity to focus on phonics, reading, sensory activities, science experience and history. Getting children excited about learning is what drives me every day.
I cannot wait to teach your children here at Outschool!
