Do you love reading? Do you love magic and magical worlds? Come join us for in depth discussions about the Powerful, Wonderful, Wicked and Wise Witches of the magical world of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. **This is a book club. We will be reading the book "Calling All Witches!: The Girls Who Left Their Mark on the Wizarding World" by Laurie Calkhoven, published by Scholastic, https://www.amazon.com/Calling-Witches-Wizarding-Potter-Fantastic/dp/1338322974/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Calling+All+Witches&qid=1597353612&sr=8-2 ** Before Class: Learners will read assigned reading pages (attachment found in the Welcome letter) During Class: Learners and Teacher will come prepared to discuss the pages read and the powerful, wonderful and/or wicked witches of the week. *Class may end early depending on participation of learners in discussions* ___Start of Class: Welcome and Greeting___ ___Class Discussion: 30-35 minutes___ ++++We will discuss each character, their personality, and their characterization in the HP universe and franchise ++++Learners are encouraged to bring favorite quotes or bring up favorite scenes from movies or books that the weekly characters played key parts in ++++Discussion will be guided by slides with notes about each character using info from "Calling All Witches!" and the HP books and movies, as well as, additional sources ___End of Class: Wrap Up___ After Class: Optional Homework Assignments ------Learners will write a reflection on the weeks reading and class discussion. ------Final Project: Research and Report on Favorite Witch Class 1 - Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood, Ginny Weasley and Myrtle Warren (Moaning Myrtle) Class 2 - Women of Dumbledore's Army and Girls Who Ruled The Quidditch Pitch Class 3 - Fleur Delacour and Madame Olypme Maxime, Professor McGonagall and Madam Poppy Pomfrey Class 4 - Professor Sybil Trelawney, Professor Pomona Sprout, and Women Who Ran Hogwarts Class 5 - Villains of the Wizarding World and Tough Mothers Class 6 - Nymphadora Tonks, Girls Who Proved Their Ideals on the Battlefield and Women Who ran the Wizarding World Class 7 - Porpentina Goldstein (Tina) and Queenie Goldstein, President Seraphina Picquery and Bunty Class 8 - Vinda Rosier and Nagini, Leta Lestrange and Four More Notable Women

**Important** In order to participate Learners must have the book for this class.
Single Learner Classes:
- Single learner classes will go ahead as scheduled unless learner and family request otherwise.
- If the discussion ends early, the class will have extra time to play games and trivia.

I have long been a fan of HP. From the time my mother started reading the books aloud to me as a child I have been enthralled. During my teenage and college years I wrote many short stories for fan fiction. I've read most trivia books and taken thousands of HP themed quizzes including personality and trivia. I've read each book and seen each movie multiple times. I also enjoy reading fan fiction and keeping up to date with the goings on of the HP universe.
The Book we are reading in this class was published in 2019 and is a wonderful companion book for fans of HP. 리뷰
