This 3-day class is an excellent introduction to music. No previous musical experience or knowledge is required! I am a friendly, laid-back teacher and my main goal is for my students to have fun and feel more comfortable with the piano. I welcome all kinds of learners, whether your child is talkative and loves to learn online, or if your child is quiet and prefers to be left alone! Over the 3 classes, the following topics will be covered: Day 1 : * finger numbers * names of the keys * steps and skips * practice songs on the black keys Day 2: * notes on the treble clef staff for C position * note values * how notes can move on the staff * practice songs on the white keys Day 3: * combining note reading with reading steps/skips to play simple songs * add dynamics if time permits
A piano or keyboard is needed for this course, along with a laptop/tablet/phone set at a side angle so I can see the students' hands on the keys. All music and handouts will be provided digitally. Students are encouraged however to find music that they are interested in learning.
