In this fun ukulele camp, we will learn how to strum basic strumming patterns, play the C, F,  G7 chords, and put all that knowledge and skill into playing and writing songs!  All of this will be taught step by step, using games, fun repetition, challenges and creativity.  To start each lesson, we will start with a get to know you and your Uke game, review of previous learned skills and then add a new skill.  We will play songs and sing along!  My teaching style is positive, patient, engaging and fun!  We will have lots of laughs and learn in a relaxed, positive environment.  Students will have plenty of time to chat with one another, help each other, sing simple songs and even write their own songs with friends to perform for us all at the end of the month.  Each learner will receive a booklet of information, notes and songs that we will be learning in this class.  Learners do not need to know anything about the Ukulele before attending class. Lesson 1:  What is a Ukulele?  Learners will learn some history of the Ukulele, the names of the strings, how to tune it, the C chord and a basic strum pattern.  We will sing and play the song: Row Row Row Your Boat, as well as change up the words to make our own!

Lesson 2:  Welcome!  Review game, review strum pattern and Row Row Row Your Boat.  Learn to play 3 Blind Mice, write our own words.  We will be introduced to the F Chord and play the F Chord Game. We will also learn the Am chord.

Lesson 3:  Welcome!  Review game, review strumming pattern and learn a new one!  Review C , Am and F Chords.  Play the 10 second challenge game.  Learn to play 2 new songs, "Merrily we Roll Along," and "Skip to My Lou" and write our own fun words to the tunes.  Introduce "Best Day of My Life" song.

Lesson 4:  Welcome!  Review game, review strumming patterns, C and F, Am Chord and play the Chord Change Challenge!  We will sing the songs we have already learned.  We will learn how to fill in our own chord charts and strumming patterns on staff paper, as well as learn what a rest sign is, how to write it and use it in our music.  We will add the song, "London Bridge" to our repertoire of music. Our new chord will be G7. Learn the song, "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands".
