Welcome to this one time class which is part of a series focused on contemporary living artists that can be taken in any order. Leonardo Benzant is an American artist working with beaded scultpures. Through video and images students will learn about the life and work of Leonardo Benzant. They will then create their own "Beaded Benzant" with beads and tubes. (No prior knowledge is needed.)
Students will be able to describe the life and processes of artist Leonardo Benzant.
This artist is a personal friend of mine and I have had the pleasure of working with him. He has given special permission for this class.
Beads Paper towel roll needle fishing line yarn masking tape *hot glue gun with glue sticks Please ensure that the beads fit through the needle. Some students may choose larger beads and work with yarn. This is fine and saves time.
If students are not comfortable using a needle please given them larger beads and yarn.
