A short video describing polymers and how they bond will be viewed. Students will fill out a worksheet that explores the type of chemical reaction that will occur in their experiment. Students will be able to explain what a polymer is and how it can be changed through a chemical reaction. They will learn basic lab safety. The process of lab observations and hypotheses will be learned through guided activity. Students will also learn about long chain chemicals.
A polymer worksheet and a lab report will be provided. Materials Needed: Borax warm water glue cornstarch measuring cups two bowls craft sticks or spoons Optional (and more fun!) glitter food coloring
