This class is the third class in an on-going series highlighting the lives of women throughout history. During each of these classes we will explore a brief biography of different women in history, their life, the society and culture that shaped them, and what contributions they made in their field. We will discuss how their lives would be different if they had been born in different times and cultures and what shaped them into achieving their goals. Each week we will explore a different...
Students will learn historical facts about the time period that each woman lived and their accomplishments to history.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.

Mary Kenner (week 8) was an African American inventor who is most noted for her development of the adjustable sanitary belt. All discussions will be kept at an age appropriate level. Several homework options may include watching short Youtube videos which will be embedded into the Outschool classroom page. There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own.
