In this on-going class, students will participate in weekly drills designed to increase their speed and accuracy while fingerspelling the ASL alphabet. As is the goal while learning any second language, students work towards learning to sign naturally, automatically and without thought. Rapid drills on a regular basis will ensure students succeed in this area.
I have been teaching ASL in-person to students of all ages for more than 25 years, and in online classrooms for more than 2 years. I have received recognition and awards for Teaching ASL by the Association of American Educators Foundation, as well as earning the title of “ASL Teacher of the Year” from Beach Cities Unified District, 1997-1999, 2001 and 2003.
