What better way to unwind than creating a beautiful craft with new friends! The goal of this class is twofold: make a delightful project and chat! At the beginning of class, I'll present the craft ,give the background on the famous artist , and demo the first set of directions. We'll explore a new art technique each week, such as highlighting, shading, texture, etc. This class is perfect for the beginning artist who wants to learn the basics of sketching and painting. My goals for my students are that they experience a variety of art techniques and mediums, learn more about famous artists, create in a relaxed setting and gain confidence communicating with peers.
I've taught all subjects including art in a brick and mortar school for over 20 years. I've designed and used my own art curriculum for an art club that was designed for children 6-18 years of age . I also taught a summer art camp for 5 years to elementary children that focused on engaging science experiments , artist studies and different art techniques and mediums.
White card stock & Watercolor Paper (preferred & easily found at Walmart or Target for around $5.00 for 30 sheets) Black and variety of colored permanent Sharpie markers (fine point) Oil Pastels Crayons Watercolor paint set & brushes Assortment of construction paper, scrapbook paper , glue stick and scissors Patterned or glitter background paper to mount art work to is cute but optional Occasionally glitter, stickers or sequins
Learners may need help setting up for class. We will also occasionally use a glue gun which artists will need assistance using.
