During this fun, creative art club, students will learn about color, shape and form using oil pastels as an art medium. Using oil pastels, students will draw and color landscapes, seascapes, animals, and objects from nature. Blending, ombre effects, vivid color and fun techniques will round out each lesson. In spring, we will make floral designs, trees, and spring scenes. In summer, we will draw the beach, seashells, and palm trees. In the fall, we will create fall themed items such as...
Students will learn about oil pastels in a relaxed club style environment. Students will learn tricks and tips about how to use oil pastels. Students will learn about how to create form using highlights and shadows. Students will develop artistic skills and confidence through practice.
•Oil Pastels* - Crayola makes a great, affordable set of 28 colors. Pentel is another inexpensive brand. For those who are more serious, Sennelier is sure to give great results. *Please be sure to have Black and White oil pastels in your set. • Pencil and Eraser •Heavy art paper that can be either Watercolor or Mixed Media paper. •Black Card stock Paper (some lessons will have an option to do the project on black paper) •Tissues, Q-Tips, or Blending Stumps (tortillons) for blending.
