Create a new spreadsheet
Label columns
Bold headings
Freeze a row
Adjust column width to fit the contents of the column
Wrap text to keep column size manageable
Use data validation to limit entries for a cell
Format numbers as dates
Use conditional formatting to emphasize specific cells

Week 7
Evaluate Credibility of Online Sources:  Determine if a source is credible using a table of key questions in a document.
Use key questions to evaluate an article and determine if its source is credible.
Answer the following essential questions:
How can I evaluate content to ensure that it is credible?
Why is it important to know the source of a message?
Why is it important to understand the goals of a message?
Internalize the following enduring understanding:
Not everything that you read or see is from a credible source. It’s important to evaluate the credibility of different types of media before you choose to believe their content or share them with others.
As they complete this lesson, students will learn and practice the following digital skills:
Create and work in a document

Week 8
Annotate Text in Google Docs: Increase your understanding of what you read by making digital notes in an article.
Read text closely
Identify specific elements in text
Annotate in a digital document
Answer the following essential question:
How do I read more closely and remember and understand more of what I read?
Internalize the following enduring understandings:
Annotation is a type of note taking that helps you understand and remember what you read
You can annotate text to prepare for a school assignment or paper
There are different ways to annotate text, including in a digital document
As they complete this lesson, students will learn and practice the following digital skills:
Open and rename a document
Add text to a document
Insert a table
Create an annotation key
Highlight, bold, and underline words and phrases
Insert comments
Use the dictionary tool and define feature

Week 9
Create a Resume in Google Docs: Design, write, and format a professional resume that stands out.
Select a document template and modify it with relevant information and appropriate formatting.
Answer the following essential question(s):
How can I create a resume that will communicate relevant information about me to a potential employer, admissions officer, or scholarship committee?
Internalize the following enduring understanding(s):
Formatting tools and templates make resumes easier to read and look more professional.
A resume is a brief overview of who you are and how you spend your time.
Present yourself as a professional, even with limited paid work experience.
Choosing relevant and appropriate information to share (social media, professional email, and how to phrase skills/experience/etc.) is essential for presenting yourself as a potential candidate.
A resume is a valuable tool that will help students apply for jobs, colleges, internships, or scholarships.
As they complete these lessons, students will learn and practice the following digital skills:
Select and use a Google Docs Template
Make formatting changes in a document: apply bullets; change text attributes, image options (color), and line spacing
Use spell check 
Share a document
Comment in a document
Download a document as a specific file type
Email a document

Week 10
Make Art with Google Sheets: Create a pixel art project using conditional formatting in a spreadsheet.
Create a spreadsheet pixel art project that assigns cell and text colors to specific values with conditional formatting rules.
Answer the following essential question:
How do I set conditional formatting rules to call attention to specific information in a spreadsheet?
Internalize the following enduring understandings:
There are different ways to organize, display, and analyze data with formatting.
Conditional formatting is a tool for visually organizing spreadsheet data for easier reference and improved usability.
Creative projects are a fun, effective way to learn and master advanced app features and digital skills. 
As they complete this lesson, students will learn and practice the following digital skills:
Open, rename, and edit a new spreadsheet
Select and resize multiple cells, columns, and rows
Select and edit a range of cells, including rows, columns, and arrays of single cells
Apply formatting conditions to match background fill colors with text colors
Use the drag feature to quickly copy cell data horizontally or vertically
Use the paint format feature to quickly format a selection of cells
Use paste special features to paste formatting without values
Share a spreadsheet with others and grant editing privileges
Access, copy, and edit a spreadsheet that another person has shared
