This course is an intensive review of materials for the 2021 AP World History exam. This course will meet twice a week for six weeks. During this course we will review each time period, including important figures, themes and the progression from ancient times to the modern era. Using the Socratic method we will engage in robust discussion about the effect of major world changing events in order to develop the correct thought process for the exam. We will also discuss exam strategy for the multiple choice as well as the easy questions. I will also offer “office hours” where students can post questions.

Unit 1  - 1200-1450 
Study of ancient civilizations, medieval society and creation of nation states.
We will also study the role of trade routes major philosophies.

Unit 2  -1450-1750
Age of Exploration with emphasis on the Colombian Exchange and the Atlantic slave trade.  We will explore the clash of new civilizations and the impact on nations. We will look at Europe and how trade changed many countries.

Unit 3  -1750-1900
In depth examination of revolutions and the lead up to WWI. We will focus on the American, French and Latin American revolutions and the philosophies that helped to bring about these changes.

Unit 4 - 1900 - Present 
In depth examination of both world wars, the spread of communism and the Cold War.
