Students will delve into the geography of India, including the Indus and Ganges Rivers, the Deccan Plateau, the Ghats, and the seasonal monsoons that influenced daily life. We'll explore the advanced Indus Valley Civilization, with a focus on Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro, and trace the influence of the Aryans, including their development of Sanskrit and the Caste System.

Through an engaging PowerPoint presentation and a guided notes packet, students will uncover the fundamentals of Hinduism and Buddhism, the path to nirvana, and the contributions of the Mauryan and Gupta Empires to Indian culture and society.

This course is designed to be mostly a PowerPoint presentation with some videos that are relevant to the topic.  Students will review what they learned in the previous lesson, then transition to the new content, and the class will end with a comprehension check to ensure students understand the new material. All students will need to have a functional camera and microphone as class discussions are an essential component of the course. Students will be provided with a guided note worksheet in a pdf format. During the final class, students will review what they have learned by completing a review game on Kahoot.   

Students do not need any prior knowledge about India to get the most out of this class!
