In this ongoing class we will explore different famous artists' works of art and compare them to reimagined works of art based on a theme for the week. Students will learn about different artists, art styles and different ways to use the power of our imaginations. Each week we will focus on a different book and see how famous artists would have painted according to that week's theme, we will compare the artists' original art with the reimagined style. Students will be encouraged to talk and...
Students will become knowledgable in different art styles as well as many different famous (and maybe not as famous) artists. They will learn how to express how the art makes them feel and what they think the artist may have been trying to make the viewer feel/see/understand. They will use their creativity to create a drawing using whichever medium they choose that may be inspired by the art we saw that day in class or they may create their own unique art style! This class promotes open discussion and encourages expression.
Paper and something to draw/color/paint with. Students can choose what they use to create with.
