대수학 2, 전체 커리큘럼, 1학기, 공인 수학 교사와 함께

This course will cover the first semester of college prep, Common Core Algebra 2. Students completing the entire course will be ready to move onto Functions, Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus. This is a teacher lead, interactive class; I will present the lesson and we will practice together. My goal is to build a classroom community where students are comfortable asking questions and commenting as I believe this drives the learning for the whole cohort. Each lesson will include a presentation of the topics being covered and time for the students to practice together/independently on the content. I work to be readily available to all of my student's questions/concerns during and outside of our scheduled class time.

Students interested in enrolling in this class should have completed a full Algebra 1 course and be proficient with the content. 

The topics covered (dates coincide with the section beginning the week of September 10th, other sections will be ahead/behind by a week):
Weeks one, two and three;  Quadratic functions and factoring
   -week 9-10 to 9-16, we will focus on solving quadratic equations by graphing and factoring.
   -week 9-17 to 9-23 and third week, 9-24 to 9-30 will be devoted to solving quadratic equations by factoring, using square roots and completing the square.
Weeks four, five and six; Polynomials and polynomial functions
   -The first part of this topic, weeks, 10-1 to 10-7 and the first half of week, 10-8 to 10-14 we will focus on polynomials; properties, graphs and computation.
   - The second half of this topic week, 10-8 to 10-14 and week, 10-15 to 10-21 will focus on applying, Algebraic theorems and analyzing graphs.
Weeks seven and eight;  Rational exponents and radical functions
-week 10-22 to 10-28; Evaluate and apply properties of Rational Exponents
-week 10-29 to 11-4; Operations, compostion and Inverse Functions, graph square roots and cube roots
Weeks nine, ten and eleven;  Exponential and logarithmic functions
-week 11-5 to 11-11; Graph exponential growth and decay functions
-week 11-12 to 11-18; Logarithmic functions
-week 11-26 to 12-1; Write and solve logarithmic functions
Weeks twelve, thirteen and fourteen;  Rational functions
-week 12-3 to 12-9; Inverse and joint variation and graph radical functions
-week 12-10 to 12-16; Computation with rational expressions
-week 12-17 to 12-23; Solve rational expressions and compare characteristics
