In this class, we will focus on the first half of the algebra 1 curriculum. Students will receive digital handouts of some assignments, while other assignments will be from websites such as Khan Academy. Live classes will be focus on explaining methods and individual and small group practice, including break-out groups. We will use real-world examples to help us understand concepts, as well as play some math games and have small group and large group discussions. Students will be expected...
Students will understand and apply basic algebraic concepts to solve single-variable equations and inequalities and graph them.

Students will be assigned independent study (homework) tasks on days the class doesn't have a live meeting. Students should return those assignments to the teacher by way of a private message attachment to receive feedback from the teacher. Students should have notebook, pencil, and a calculator that can do exponents and square roots. Students may choose to have manipulatives such as algebra tiles but these are not required.
