The Big Five is made up of the lion, leopard, African buffalo, rhinoceros, and the African elephant. Many people visit Africa hoping to see these magnificent animals. South Africa is the home to more than 20,000 different plants and a wide variety of mammals too. It is ranked sixth out of the world's 17 mega-diverse countries. Therefore, South Africa has a lot more to offer than these five animals. In this class, we will be learning about the lesser-known wildlife found in South Africa....
Students will learn about some of the lesser-known wildlife that can be found in Africa.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a specialisation in counselling. In the past, I have worked in primary and high schools offering individual & group counselling, life skills courses, and psychometric testing. I am currently working at a primary school as a learning support assistant. My interests lie in child development and mental health awareness. I have also always had a passion for wildlife and have done extensive research on all of my class topics.
Please could your child prepare to introduce themselves by comparing themselves to one animal. For example: "My name is Shelby and I think I'm like a bottle nose dolphin because they swim really fast".
