Have you heard of the African Big Five?

The Big Five is made up of the lion, leopard, African buffalo, rhinoceros, and the African elephant. Many people visit Africa hoping to see these magnificent animals. South Africa is the home to more than 20,000 different plants and a wide variety of mammals too. It is ranked sixth out of the world's 17 mega-diverse countries. Therefore, South Africa has a lot more to offer than these five animals.

In this class, we will be learning about some of the marine life found around the coast of Africa. I will teach your student some facts about these creatures and then we will share our thoughts about them. You will learn what they eat, their role in their respective habitats, as well as where you could find them if you ever went looking!

My classes are well structured and are discussion-based. We will follow a presentation and have discussions about each animal. We will also complete activities during class and each learner will have the opportunity to share their learning. The children are welcome to ask questions and share their thoughts throughout the class time. The aim of my classes is to provide children with a space where they feel comfortable enough to share their prior knowledge and learn some new things too.
