수업 소개
This class is for horse lovers who want a deeper understanding of horse biology. Students will learn about horse anatomy, taxonomy, and ecology in this multi day course. While I present the lesson to students using images and videos, I will ask the students questions to encourage active thoughts and reasoning. On day one, we will learn about horse anatomy and their unique adaptations. Students will actively work along with me to create their own horse models. Day two, we will talk about horse classification and discuss some of the animals (like donkeys and zebras) that are similar to them. A graphic organizer will be provided for the students to organize the facts they learn about horses. Day three, will focus on the horse habitats. A graphic organizer will also be provided. Day four, we will examine horses’ historical and cultural significance along with current care practices. A rubric for a poster project will be posted in the classroom. This project is completely optional, and students may show the class their work after the lesson on day four. The schedule will be as follows Week 1: Basic Horse Anatomy Week 2: Horse Classification Week 3: Horses Natural Habitats Week 4: Basic Care in Captivity There is no prior class required.

Hello and welcome!
With fourteen years experience teaching and tutoring, my passion for inspiring my students to investigate the world around them has only continued to grow with each year.
As a teacher, my goal is to build my students' confidence and knowledge by giving them the tools they need to become great investigators and problem solvers. Topics we will explore a variety of topics that fall under biology and animal sciences. Students will learn how to conduct their own scientific investigations, collect data, and observe the beautiful world around them.
I have a Bachelor's in Biology. I have three years teaching experience in the classroom and online. I also 13 years tutoring science subjects for grades K-12 up into college level biology courses. Besides teaching, I spent four years in field research monitoring wildlife populations, and two years in the lab on research projects for Cystic Fibrosis and Pancreatic Cancer.
I spend my free time gardening, trying fun new recipes, and playing a little bit of Animal Crossing.
