주당 1시간. Homework is optional. Each week students will be asked to practice the exercises introduced in class. This is recommended for serious writers who want to improve their writing and one day publish. The more you practice the better you will get. Also, a reading list will be offered for those who would like to read about writing and the writing process. The books offered cover more ground and have many more exercises than can be used in the classroom during one class period.학습 평가

In this ongoing class learners will look at different parts of the writing process. Each week will cover a different step of the writing process in depth. From Brainstorming to Writing to Revising and Editing to Publishing. Each step will be discussed and examples of how authors work through the step will be looked at. Some weeks will be devoted to craft, from Character Development to Setting, from Pacing to Dialogue. We will look at different genres of writing and the expectations for these genres. Learners will be given a broad view of writing by looking at how different Authors write. Each class will consist of a Powerpoint presentation on the weekly topic. Then a discussion of the topic will follow. Each student will be given 10-15 minutes throughout class to write using the strategies or topics we are learning. Class will end with a discussion of what worked and what didn't work for the writing exercise. I have a BA in Creative Writing. I have taken and continue to take writing classes to improve my writing expertise. I have written extensively in my life. I love to write and want to share that love of writing with students. There was a time in my life when teachers told me I couldn't write because my writing didn't fit into the "box" they believed Writing was. I have since learned that all authors have their own writing style, technique, and process and that the process that works best for you, the author, is the best process. I want to share this understanding with students and help them discover their own process.
I have not published my first Novel, of which I am currently in the editing and revising stages. The reason for this is that the story is a fantasy novel and I am working hard to build the world in which the story takes place. It is intended to be part of a series with at least 10 novels, so far. I am a bit of a perfectionist in my own writing and prefer to work out all the details in advance. Not all authors do this and that will be discussed in this class (Pre-writing and Writing).리뷰
