DESCRIPTION: In this exciting and in-depth introductory-level online course student will learn about the cultural and political history of Ancient Rome, from the city’s origins in the Iron Age (c. 800 BCE) to the end of the Roman Republic about 27 BCE. I am fascinated by the Greco-Roman world; its history, literature, culture, and languages. I have an M.A. in Classics and have taught Roman history, as well as other Classics related subjects, to a range of ages and skill levels online and in a traditional classroom. This course is meant to be fun! It will incorporate a lot of literature but also a lot of material culture from the classical world.
