The purpose of this class is to show students why government matters to them and how their lives are shaped by their constitutional rights. It was also created to meet the Utah U.S. History Core Standard: U.S. I Standard 4.3: Students will use historic case studies and current events to trace how and explain why the rights, liberties, and responsibilities of citizens have changed over time.
I am a licensed Social Studies teacher in the state where I live. I taught this class as part of a unit on the U.S. Constitution in my high school U.S. History class. I have several years of experience working with teens as a mentor, camp counselor, tutor, teacher, and debate coach.

We will be discussing each court case as a class. Students will be expected to identify what exactly their rights are as outlined by the court case and to decide whether they agree or disagree with the court ruling. If students desire a letter grade, I can send a worksheet upon request that follows the material we will be discussing, which I can then grade upon completion.제공되는 성적
We will be going through a reading about these court cases. If you would like a copy, let me know so I can send it to you. If you would like to receive a letter grade for this class, let me know ahead of time so I can send you the accompanying worksheet.
This class discusses court cases based on sensitive matters of abuse, corporal punishment, drug use, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and religion in schools. If you have further questions, I have listed all the court cases in the class description and I am happy to provide clarification and further details upon request.
We will refer to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights throughout the class. https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/learning/teachers/featured_articles/20080915monday.html https://www.thefreelibrary.com/10+Supreme+Court+cases+every+teen+should+know%3A+more+of+the+Court%27s...-a0170413227 https://www.isd622.org/cms/lib07/MN01001375/Centricity/Domain/777/Supreme%20Court%20Cases%20Every%20Teen%20Should%20Know%20P%201-2.pdf
